Live on Hamburg stages Hamburg hotels or backstage in Hamburg clubs. \nSince 1991\, Stefan Malzkorn (*1963) has accompanied the lively musical life in Hamburg\, as a photographer – and now as an organizer. \n“Malzkorn’s Rock’n’Roll” was shown for the first time at the Reeperbahn Festival in 2013 and is a tribute to Stefan´s hometown Hamburg. \nOn its 10th anniversary and at the start of the “Osterbrooklyn Wintertime” the exhibiton is coming to the Fabrik der Künste – supplemented with further pictures\, a look into a mobile photo studio and a look at original archives from an intensive photographer’s life. \n“Rock’n’Roll” is not a style of music\, but a philosophy of life: Going onto a stage\, showing yourself\, exposing yourself\, going “live” and creating something new and unique – Stefan Malzkorn sees himself in this sense as a part of Rock’n’Roll. \nStefan has been involved in the BOOT project in Hamburg Hamm-Süd since 2016 and has used the BOOT-idea to create his own new music formats such as the Osterbrooklyn Festival\, which entered its sixth round this year and is in 2023 supported by the Hamburg Music City Fund. \nThe opening of the exhibition on November 16th is the start of the “Osterbrooklyn Wintertime”\, appropriately accompanied by the jazz-rock band “The Feeling Tones”: The band masterminds Jake and Ricky come from the USA and have their rehearsal room in Hamm South and\, like Stefan\, live in the immediate vicinity of the Fabrik der Künste. The “Osterbrooklyn” will then come as a winter edition to the Fabrik der Künste on November 24th and 25th\, each with three music acts as part of the photo exhibition. \nDonations welcome
