Red Hot Chilipeppers on a 9/11 – on September 11, 1995 at the Große Freiheit, at a press event for the album one hot minute in Hamburg’s Red light distict St. Pauli. The album presentation took place in the “Salambo”, an erotic club.

Beforehand in the afternoon there was an exclusive photo shoot for the “Rock Hard” magazine – at the end of a long, long promo day at the Hotel Treudelberg. That was a bit special: the schedule was already delayed, the PR-ladies were nervous, the band was a little too relaxed, and my wife and my then six-month-old daughter were there.

In search of a quiet location, I had the courage to take risks and set up my light by the side of the hotel’s swimming pool – and (of course) we all had to take off our shoes in the changing room. There are pictures of that too, including the picture of Flea with my daughter in her arms.

The original is a 35mm b&w-negative that was scanned for the exhibition. The print has a format of 100 x 70 cm.

Red Hot Chilipeppers an einem 9/11 – am 11. September 1995 auf der Großen Freiheit im Rotlichtviertel St. Pauli, bei einem Pressetermin für das Album „one hot minute“, die „listening session“ mit der Albumpräsentation fand im Salambo statt, einem Erotikclub.

Vorher gab es einen exklusiven Fototermin für das “Rock Hard” Magazin –, zum Ende eines langen langen Promo-Tages im Hotel Treudelberg. Das war etwas speziell – der Zeitplan ohnehin verzögert, die Frauen von der PR nervös, die Band etwas zu entspannt, und meine Frau und meine damals sechs Monate alte Tochter waren mit dabei. Auf der Suche nach einer ruhigen Location hatte ich mein Licht mit dem Mut zum Risiko in der Hotelschwimmhalle aufgebaut – und (natürlich) mussten wir alle in der Umkleidekabine unsere Schuhe ausziehen. Auch davon gibt es Bilder, auch das Bild von Flea mit meiner Tochter auf dem Arm.

Das Original ist ein Kleinbild-Farbdia, das für die Ausstellung eingescannt wurde. Der Druck hat das Format 100 x 70 cm.
