The final round has begun, most of the pictures are already hanging in the Fabrik der Künste – now we’re heading into the last three days before the opening. So we start the new week with the “King of Pop” to make a statement.
In 1997 I was able to see Michael Jackson twice – first at the tour opener in Bremen at the Weserstadion on May 31st, and in mid-June ’97 in Kiel. There is from both concerts a picture in the exhibition – and the one from Kiel in particular shows what an energetic performer Michael Jackson was. In the exhibition I would like to tell you how 200mm became 600mm and what 600mm means when you take photos without a monopod. The image stabilizer came later.

Die Endrunde ist eingeläutet, die meisten Bilder hängen bereits in der Fabrik der Künste – Jetzt geht es für uns in die letzten drei Tage vor der Eröffnung. Da kann man die Woche mit dem „King of Pop“ beginnen und ein Zeichen setzen. 1997 konnte ich Michael Jackson zweimal sehen – zuerst beim Tourauftakt in Bremen im Weserstadion am 31. Mai, und Mitte Juni `97 in Kiel. Von beiden Konzerte gibt es ein Bild in der Ausstellung – und besonders das aus Kiel zeigt, was für ein energetischer Performer Michael Jackson war. In der Ausstellung erzähle ich Euch gerne, wie aus 200mm 600mm wurden, und was 600mm bedeuten, wenn man ohne Einbeinstativ fotografiert. Der Bildstabilisator kam erst später
Das Original ist ein Kleinbild-Dia , die Empfindlichkeit wurde von 100ASA auf 800ASA gesteigert – Das Bild in der Ausstellung hat das Format 70×100 cm.
